Description

Job Functions:
  1. Plan, direct, drive and monitor the sales of existing MTU products for the microgrid solutions and gas systems business to increase market share in North America (NA) and Latin America (LA).
  2. Strategize, develop and execute the strategy for sales via both direct and distributor sales channels.
  3. Provide technical, financial and project consulting for microgrid projects. Develop business cases which are attractive for customers.
  4. Define, manage and assume responsibility for goals and initiatives for key market segments and closely monitor results to ensure success.
  5. Contribute to sales application strategies and define requirements for product development
  6. Participate in the development of global applications and pricing strategies
  7. Collaborate in trans-regional projects, global development, and planning activities with MTU in Friedrichshafen, Germany.
  8. Responsible for sales planning for relevant sales region within the framework of strategic and operational planning as well as expected annuals and monthly rolling forecast (MRF) for mircrogrid and gas applications
  9. Responsible for departmental oversight of budgets, forecasts and statistical reports. Review financial statements and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and improvement.
  10. Perform administrative functions such as reviewing and writing reports, approving expenditures and budgets, enforcing rules and making decisions about the purchase of materials or services.
  11. Recruit employees, assign, direct, and evaluate their work, and oversee the development and maintenance of staff competence.
  12. Assist and advise departmental employees regarding corporate policies and procedures including all Financial and Administration topics.
  13. Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Global Code of Conduct.
  14. Perform special projects as required.
  15. Closely cooperate with Power Generation sales for diesel sales in Americas.
Qualifications:
Required:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10 years of sales management experience within power generation market; or 14 years of sales management experience within power generation market.
  2. Excellent knowledge of gas engines and gas powered systems, ideally experiences in hybrid solutions / microgrids
  3. Proven strategic leadership and executive management skills
  4. Minimum of 5 years of experience in people management
  5. Experience in expanding business over territories and applications and in deploying international projects
  6. Excellent ability to manage business processes and procedures
  7. Excellent ability to manage complex financial transactions
  8. Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to drive the sale
  9. Excellent project management skills with the ability to drive concurrent projects to completion
  10. Excellent ability to collaborate with and/or provide sales support with internal and external customers in an international environment
  11. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  12. Excellent analytical and problem solving ability for dealing with very complex problems
  13. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire others
  14. Excellent organizational planning and follow-up skills
  15. Ability to travel, both domestic and international (
  16. Proficient with PC and MS Office Suite

Preferred:
  1. Master's degree or M.B.A.
  2. Knowledge of MTU diesel engine and propulsion system products
  3. International business experience, including knowledge of German-American business culture
