The Project Manager is responsible for leading highly visible, complex, and transformative projects and operational initiatives that are of strategic importance to Atrius Health.As a Project Manager on our Operational Transformation team, the project manager will participate in and lead cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of initiatives aimed at transforming the delivery system.The project manager will drive identification of gaps/enhancements in operational processes and develop requirements and deliverables that can be executed collaboratively with the clinical and administrative teams. The Project Manager will work across all departments and disciplines and must have strong project management, analytical, communication, and presentation skills.By designing and leading complex projects, the Project Manager will shape the future of healthcare delivery for Atrius Health's patient population.

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a key member of the operations leadership team, the Project Manager will take full ownership and accountability for all special projects and operational initiatives as assigned by the Director. Key responsibilities include:

  • Under the leadership of, and in partnership with the Director, develops and executes upon the goals and objectives of assigned special projects and operational initiatives.Ensures project deliverables are consistently achieved on-time and on-budget.

  • Interacts extensively with the Director, senior leadership, and service line leadership to establish annual operating priorities and tracks the outcomes against established performance targets and industry benchmarks.

  • Provide staff support to the Director for a broad range of meetings. Responsibilities will include performing research, tracking trends, preparing presentations, developing meeting agendas, compiling pertinent background materials for attendees, preparing summaries of discussions, and ensuring appropriate and effective communications with participants as needed.

Project Management

The Project Manager will be responsible for a wide range of projects including, but not limited to:space planning initiatives, process improvement initiatives, new programs and services, organizational policy and procedure development, etc.

  • Acts as the primary point person accountable for ensuring that necessary action plans and deliverables for assigned projects are completed in a timely, cost effective, operationally effective manner.Includes the direction and coordination of activities of all project management team members.

  • Provides project management execution, direction, consultation and oversight as needed.Determines scope, objectives, resource requirements, timelines, and accountabilities necessary to meet assigned project goals.Defines project outcome metrics and prepares regular reports and updates for senior leadership on project progress.

  • Provides analytic, business planning, and project management for all assigned project initiatives including, but not limited to:research; data gathering and analysis; budget planning and approvals; design, coordination, approval, and implementation of action plans.

  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the changing health care environment and assesses the market's needs. Provides thought leadership to sponsoring executives and leaders regarding emerging strategic opportunities, as well as ongoing operational issues and challenges.Monitors and evaluates the adequacy of Atrius Health's existing services and, with the Director and senior leadership, ensures the development and implementation of programs and services to respond to the market. Develops, supports and implements initiatives aimed at improving overall operations, service excellence, and financial performance.

  • Responsible for ensuring project stakeholder and sponsor satisfaction.Develops and/or implements defined standards, procedures, policies, and reporting processes designed to meet project stakeholder and sponsor needs.

  • In collaboration with Director and Atrius Health leadership, responsible for the establishment of partnerships that will enable improved operational performance.For assigned areas, responsible for developing and maintaining on-going relationships with outside consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies and other strategic partners as needed. May negotiate agreements with business partners on behalf of the Director.Promotes and safeguards Atrius Health interests with external entities and partners.

  • Leads interdisciplinary, cross-functional projects across service lines and sites.

  • Ensures all projects meet policy and compliance standards for Atrius Health, OSHA, DPH and state and federal regulations.

  • Ensures all projects and initiatives remain aligned with Atrius Health strategic priorities, mission, vision, and values.

Financial Management

  • Manages all assigned project budgets.Accountable for ensuring that assigned projects meet stated financial objectives.

  • Partners with the Director, senior leadership, and service line leaders to anticipate and react to changes in organizational financial performance.Identifies and executes on projects that ensure operating costs are properly monitored and controlled.

EDUCATION/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree required.Master's degree (or equivalent) in business or health administration strongly preferred.

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience including planning, development, and financial analysis, business and operations management. Experience in all phases of project management introducing large-scale change in a corporate environment. Background in a healthcare or human services organization, and supervisory experience preferred..

Project Management Skills:Demonstrated success in managing complex initiatives and projects.Expert knowledge of the principles and best practices of project management, including, but not limited to: project life cycle, scope definition and management, planning and scheduling, monitoring, communication cycles, project team and risk management.Ability to delegate and effectively supervise and plan for the timely and successful completion of short and long-term objectives.Strong skills in budget development and management, with demonstrated ability to bring large, complex projects in on time and on budget.Ability to consistently meet established deadlines for deliverable or activities.

  • Business Planning Skills:Demonstrated advanced business planning expertise in business plan development, pro forma development, budget development, analysis, and management, etc.

  • Problem Solving Skills:Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, with ability to analyze and resolve complex problems of broad scope, develop effective action plans, and implement to successful conclusion.Track record of thinking conceptually and mastering complex subject matter quickly.

  • Organizational Skills:Outstanding organizational skills necessary to manage many competing timetables and responsibilities.Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement practical strategies, plans, and solutions to identified issues and problems.

  • Interpersonal Skills:Excellent interpersonal skills with reputation as a relationship builder and communicator.Track record of demonstrating strong leadership, facilitating, coaching, and networking skills needed to motivate others and work with providers, managers, and staff in a positive and collegial fashion.Experience managing through influence and collaboration.Ability to create and foster a collaborative work environment, and organize people and resources to solve problems and identify opportunities.

  • Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to communicate effectively with a large and diverse constituency, including Atrius Health leaders, Service Line providers and staff, representatives of other Atrius Health departments, and vendors.Ability to accurately and concisely disseminate information in both written and verbal formats.

  • Ability to work independently.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Able to use all electronic tools and applications relevant to the performance of the duties of the position, including but not limited to phone, keyboard, computer and computer applications and operational systems. A high degree of expertise and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Access.

Performs all job functions in compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company policies and procedures.

Actively protects the confidentiality and privacy of all protected health information they access in all its forms (written, verbal, and electronic, etc.) taking reasonable precautions to prohibit unauthorized access.
