Job Description:

The Sr. Manager provides operational support to cross-functional medical affairs team and oversees the planning and tactical execution of medical plans within the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) department. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning and execution of medical affairs projects, including launch plans and annual medical planning. The individual drives the development and tracks the execution of high quality, integrated cross-functional medical plans and tactics. Interacts with multiple functions within medical affairs (including global and regional medical directors, global medical information, medical communications) and others including health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), clinical development, real-world evidence, commercial, and regulatory departments.. The individual is expected to apply project management best practices in the development, initiation, planning, execution, maintenance, and closing of projects. The Manager will also highlight risks, timeline delays and other issues. The candidate will be a team player with well-developed skills for gaining the cooperation of others and ensuring effective communication among team members.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide meeting management and facilitation support to the Brand Medical Team to ensure projects and plans move forward.
  • Lead the development of high quality medical plans, including product launch plans, and ensure alignment between overall program strategy and cross-functional plans.
  • Communicates program status through monthly dashboards and other reporting materials and proactively identify issues/delays. Includes collecting information and ensuring accuracy of reports.
  • Develop and tracks medical plan projects; identify project contingencies.
  • Regularly meet with stakeholders for project updates.
  • Assists with risk mitigation planning.
  • Monitors program budget/spending.
  • Supports department initiatives,as needed.
  • Applies project management best practices and processes.

  • Provides project updates to Global and/or Regional Medical Director for incorporation into strategic deliverables and program timelines.
  • Escalates project issues and risk mitigations to Medical Directors in a timely manner.
  • Assist Medicals Director with development of Governance Board deliverables as needed


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in a pharmaceutical industry, Medical Affairs Project Management role with product launch experience
  • Drug Development knowledge with basic to strong understanding of other functions relevant to the position which may include: Research, Pre-Clinical, Clinical, Commercial, and Regulatory
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience leading cross-functional teams in matrix environment preferred.
  • Flexible and able to work independently to manage work priorities and follow tasks through to completion
  • Thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful and efficient.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks
  • Proficient with Project Management best practices and tools including MS Project
  • Quick learner, goal oriented and results driven with excellent problem solving skills and ability to escalate issues appropriately
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
