Job Description:

Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking to hire a Senior Manager to join the U.S. Payer Marketing team in Boston, MA. Reporting to the Associate Director of Payer Marketing, the Senior Manager will play a key role in supporting Payer Marketing, and the Managed Markets team, in the management of day-to-day business activities as well as delivering key marketing support for product label expansions and launch initiatives. The Sr. Manager will also serve as a liaison between the managed markets field team and payer marketing organization, ensuring best-in-class training and plan-of-action (POA) support. The successful candidate will have an ability to thrive in an environment of rapid change; demonstrate strong communication; work effectively within cross-functional teams; and will be highly innovative and creative.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in development and refinement of strategy for new product launches and label expansions, with flawless execution of key payer marketing initiatives across the CF portfolio
  • Work with cross-functional colleagues from HEOR, Brand Marketing, Global Marketing and creative agencies to help generate key messages and tactics to support continued broad U.S. access as well as successful launches and expansions
  • Supports payer marketing efforts to support the Managed Markets Field Organization in customer strategy, planning and execution (eg training, account management tools/resources, and POA needs)
  • Rotate management of Payer Marketing track for annual Vertex meetings (VAKO/POA) including agenda and content development, training initiatives, and logistical planning
  • Work effectively with Legal, Medical, Regulatory and Communication Operations colleagues to achieve efficient and effective review of all materials
  • Acts as trusted, subject matter expert on US payer landscape to internal colleagues and externally-facing customers
  • Performs all company business in accordance with regulations and company policies and procedures



Bachelor's degree. 3+ years of experience in healthcare/biopharmaceuticals. Additional experience in payer marketing, market access, key account management, or analytics desirable. Results oriented with excellent analytic, communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong understanding of commercial and government payers. An entrepreneurial spirit and an ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage initiatives that require collaboration across multiple functional areas. A solid compliance mindset and demonstrated integrity on the job. Ability to navigate and be successful in a fast-paced environment.
