Responsibilities

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking applicants with an in-depth knowledge of cloud technologies and solutions, focused on software development with state-of-the-art technologies.

 

The qualified candidate will be an Engineering Specialist in the Cloud Platforms & Architectures Department.

 

Key Functions

  • Develop software for various cloud-related prototyping activities
  • Manage systems that provide software-as-a-service, platform-as-a-service and infrastructure-as-a-service capabilities to project teams across Aerospace
  • Implement DevSecOps technologies to securely streamline development, testing, build, and deployment of applications
  • Work in a fast-paced, feature-driven environment, experimenting with state-of-the-art hardware and software technologies to rapidly develop prototypes that demonstrate the capabilities of these technologies
  • Research and experiment with bleeding edge technologies
  • Lead not only local project teams, but project teams at other national offices as well

 

Qualifications

 

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field(s) from a recognized institution
  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience
  • Experience writing code in Java, Go, Shell, Perl, Python, or a similar language
  • Experience in data structures, algorithms, and software design
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux systems management
  • Ability to debug and optimize code and automate routine tasks
  • Experience with cloud and virtualization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and VMware technologies
  • Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. US citizenship is required to obtain a clearance.

 

Preferred

  • Interest in designing, writing, and/or troubleshooting software and systems in a distributed Linux environment
  • Experience managing server rooms
  • Familiar with DevSecOps tools, such as Jenkins
  • Active Secret security clearance
