Job Description:

The Senior Analyst will be a key member of Vertex's Corporate Real Estate Development team primarily supporting space utilization and workplace strategy. Responsibilities will include analyzing internal space utilization and workforce planning data to inform real estate and workplace strategy. This role will provide clear and informative analytics to tell a story to senior management. This role will have the ability to be highly visible to our leadership across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepares executive summaries of industry market intelligence reports and publications
  • Develops deal models for Vertex's life science start-up incubator program (Hub Lab)
  • Prepares data driven presentations Executive Committee, Operating Committee and Workplace Strategy Steering Committee to influence the corporate strategy
  • Monitor critical dates for existing portfolio and begin the initial site and space strategy for those sites
  • Assists with new global site acquisition evaluation by comparing and contrasting available opportunities with new site criteria
  • Manage rent schedule and real estate information systems
  • Works with external brokerage team and internal Finance/Accounting etc. to build financial models for real estate opportunities
  • Create a space utilization intelligence system


  • Bachelor's degree
  • 4+ years management consulting or related experience working on strategic operational data analysis projects
  • Advanced Excel skills - including, but not limited to, financial analysis. Ability to use Excel for purposes beyond what it may be intended for (such as analyzing complex operations datasets)
  • Proficient with Tableau. Prefer experience using Python
  • A demonstrated ability to think critically and translate complex problems into an appropriate analytic framework
  • Comfortable voicing opinions and advocating for one's ideas
  • Strong data analytics skills, with a particular emphasis on analyzing operations datasets
  • Self-motivation and ability to produce finished products on a timely basis with and without firm deadlines
  • An enthusiastic approach to collaboration - the successful candidate will enjoy talking through ideas and solving problems through collaboration with others
  • Aptitude to manage competing priorities and meet expected deadlines
  • Strong work ethic, diligence and customer service mindset

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Flexibility to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
