The Store Construction Project Manager manages the construction administration phase of a project. This position reports to the Sr. Manager, Construction and has no direct reports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the bidding process for a project including bidder selection, review/analysis the bid and award of the bid to the successful contractor
  • Plan check the drawings for completeness
  • Create the owner-supplied material schedule
  • Generate the general contractor contract for the project
  • Create the project schedule
  • Travel(drive and fly) to the project at specific times to review the quality and status of the project. Position may require up to 30% travel dependent on project load.
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects in various stages of construction in various geographic locations
  • Review/approve all pay requests and change orders
  • Manage all communication for the organization on the status of the project
  • Attend weekly scheduling meetings
  • Manage weekly conference calls on remodel projects
  • Create the project punchlist and manage the completion of the punchlist
  • Review/approve the project close-out documents
  • Manages the day to day requirements of a construction project including: answering questions, coordinating deliveries and updating team members


Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Communication – Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written with home office, field, vendors and general contractors
  • Organization – Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Finance – Ability to manage individual projects to a predetermined budget
  • Computer – Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project
  • Teamwork – Effectively utilizes each team member to their fullest potential
  • Leadership – Inspires the team to attain goals and pursue excellence
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion




  • 5 years previous experience as a Project Manager/ Engineer



  • 4 year degree in a construction related field


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Retail or hospitality experience preferred.
  • Comprehension of capital budget approval process
  • Remodel/ Rollout work a plus
